2019 Netball Indigenous round dress design

The story behind the creation of Collingwood’s 2019 Indigenous jumper has been given over to Travis Varcoe and his family. The design tells of how friends, Collingwood and the broader football community wrapped themselves around the Varcoe family following the death last year of Travis’ sister, Maggie Varcoe.

Round 8 sees the league’s Indigenous round. The Collingwood Magpies will wear the design by AFL player Travis Varcoe and his family. The design tells of how friends, Collingwood and the broader football community wrapped themselves around the Varcoe family following the death last year of Travis’ sister, Maggie Varcoe. The story has been re-told through the art of Lee-Anne Miller, sister of Travis’ partner, Kim.

The Indigenous dress will be worn on Saturday, against Sunshine Coast Lightning at the USC, and back in Melbourne before a Collingwood home crowd in round 9 when the Magpies play the Queensland Firebirds at Melbourne Arena.

The club’s AFL counterparts wore the Indigenous design for the first time in this years’ AFL round 10 and 11.

The netball community are proud to wear this design and can't wait for everyone to see it on Saturday, and in round 9 in front of our home crowd.
