April Brandley is one of the elite defenders in world netball and one of the stars of the all-conquering Australian Diamonds team.
The softly spoken stopper is originally from Victoria, despite going through the underage system with New South Wales. In 2011, Brandley tasted premiership success with the Firebirds, before heading west to pursue further opportunities. The move saw her stamp her mark as one of the competition’s elite defenders and earn a call up to the national side.
In 2013, Brandley made her international debut with the touring England the Australian Diamonds.
In 2017, in her first year with the Magpies, she cemented her spot as one of the top goal defenders in the league.
After an impressive SSN campaign, Brandley was once again selected in the national team, playing in both the 2017 Constellation Cup and Quad Series.
