Collingwood's cross code athlete Ash Brazill will miss the remainder of the 2020 AFLW campaign after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her right knee in the third quarter of match against Melbourne on Friday night.
Scans over the weekend revealed the 30-year-old also sustained damage to her medial collateral ligament and a tear of her lateral meniscus.
Brazill's 2020 Super Netball campaign and international duties as an Australian Diamond will also be put on hold as she recovers.
Brazill played an integral role in Collingwood’s AFLW campaign as a key defender and one of the side’s most consistent performers. The vice-captain’s team-first mentality has made her a go-to resource for many of the athletes under the Collingwood roof.
